THE WORLD BANK DELEGATE’S VISIT

On the 3rd of February, 2025, Dpat Foundation hosted a delegate from the World Bank in Dukpa village, one of the commuities of Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. The delegate’s visit was part of the assessment and evaluation of the World Bank-backed FADAMA-Care programme and the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) grants from which Dpat Cooperative members have benefitted. Officials of FADAMA-Care and AEA were also on ground as the World Bank delegate’s interacted with the beneficiaries of both the FADAMA-Care programme and AEA grants to ascertain if the materials and funds truly got to them.

Over 200 farmers and entrepreneurs under DPat Cooperative Union had benefitted from the World Bank sponsored programe during the second and third quarters of 2024. While FADAMA gave the farmers free farm inputs such as fertilizer, chemicals, sprayers, seeds, day-old chicks, poultry feeds, fish feed, grinding machines etc., AEA on its part gave out financial grants o the entrepreneurs. The delegates and officials were highly impressed by the turn out of the members of the community, which was an evidence of the positive impacts of the programme.
Members of the World Bank delegate and officials of FADAMA Care and AEA later met with the farmers and the community leaders and encouraged by the fact that the materials and grants given to them were judiciously utilized towards food security and job creation.

The community members and leaders appreciated the World Bank, AEA, FCT-FADAMA for the grants and free materials received. They also thanked Dpat Foundation for making sure they got to benefit from the programmes.
